Quote of the Day

“And that is a shame that some would spend their time in futile resentment trying to mislabel AA as some religious cult. I have seen some others ex-AA’ers with the same vendetta trying to sway others with their copy and paste twisting meanings. Most of them anti-God Christian hating atheists authors trying to mock AA’ers as brainwashed people when that is the farthest from the truth….”

Nite Byrd, an AA, commenting on this post made about the term “Dry Drunk.”

(I posted the link to a frozen page because I have no doubt the original thread and the link to our site might soon be deleted.)

  • You scooped me!

Quite a quote … "AA’ers as brainwashed people when that is the farthest from the truth….”

He must be new. If you spend any time in the rooms, someone will eventually say something like, " some people call it brainwashing, well let me tell ya, my brain needed a good washing." I guess he is calling all the people that have ever said that liars, because AA'ers are not brainwashed people – even if they say they are. Just more crazy making…..

I'm not allowed over there. So I can't see any of it. Can someone cut and paste it and send it to me?

    stinkinthinkin.outreach@yahoo.com

I've been banned for life because I questioned the sacred program.

  • I just sent you a screencap, G.

This stepper site is a pretty weird one too:

Oops, wrong link. Should have been this:

Sometimes I notice a correlation between lower intelligence and lower writing skills. I hate to be the grammar police, but Nate's post says "…farthest from the truth." If truth could be measured linearly, Nate's grammar would be correct.

  • Gunthar2000

I'm banned from recovery chat also.

  • Susan

dang Gunthar, you got yourself good and banned from all the serenity spouting places in town!

And looking at SR makes my head explode a little these days. I just really feel so bad for all the new people there, who are obviously hurting and looking for help and getting love bombed.

  • Gunthar2000

Susan… AA members moderate nearly every recovery chatroom and forum on the web. They don't like it when someone comes in talking about reason and self-empowerment. Give it a try and it'll be pig-pile all over you. These are truly sick people these AA freaks.

Aww man over at stepchat.com I was a dog-piler, there was a guy saying he got professional help and had also overcome alcoholism on his own. The guilt, it hurts. Not much, now that I am out, but I full well know about that gang mentality.

  • Gunthar2000

If that’s the onlyest gramactical mistake he made, then that’s alright with me.

  • AA Escapee

I agree with all your comments and have another. Has anyone else ever found it goofy that they have all their little thank yous beneath certain poster's comments?

  • SoberPJ

Positive reinforcement, like a nod from an oldtimer in a meeting. Probably part of the moderators handbook under "Manipulation".
