A few weeks ago, someone pointed out that calling addiction treatment that rejects the 12 Step model “alternative” serves only to legitimize AA as the primary, authoritative option. Please forgive me for forgetting who brought that to my attention — and please take credit in the comments. I agree enormously, and responded with a promise to be more deliberate in how I refer to other approaches. But, I only just realized that, despite this revelation, I have left the term “Alternative” on the links list. Until right this minute.
I have deleted the term “Alternatives,” and left the links under the heading “Resources.” Please let me know if you have a better heading for that section.
